Future-proof healthcare campus
A key role for technology and innovation
Innovative ideas are essential for anyone wanting to provide quality healthcare at affordable costs. Necron Group has bought the land and taken the first steps to build Health Campus Boxmeer, where research, education, healthcare and enterprise will come together to shape the future of healthcare.
Some ten million people live within an hour of Health Campus Boxmeer. This makes the location ideal for our new approach to healthcare services. In this project, new ideas are going to be born, tried, tested and put into practice. Sterckwijck is Dutch for “strong neighbourhood”. Health Campus Boxmeer will promote human health and well-being, so people can live independently longer.
The campus may include a lifestyle clinic, nutrition centre and various research, educational and healthcare-related institutions, all near the existing Maasziekenhuis Pantein hospital.
The land has been bought and building is to start soon. A Marriott hotel with healthcare facilities is the first. This hotel will cater for short-term and long-term patients as well as other guests.
A host of facilities and buildings will shoot up in the coming years to create an innovative environment where the different stakeholders will contribute to make a future-proof healthcare campus. Technology and innovation will play a key role to address the challenge of the rising costs of healthcare, aging and the shortage of trained staff.
Now underway, this exciting project is several years off completion. Some plans are still under development to make sure all facilities are future-proof and innovative, while exceeding BREEAM standards.
