Necron Group sells 53,425 m² logistics fresh center at Dutch Fresh Port to DOKVAST
The sale of the fully leased complex, let to Bakker Barendrecht, is one of the largest logistics real estate transactions in the Netherlands this quarter.
On October 28, 2026, Necron Group transferred Ridderkerk III at Dutch Fresh Port to DOKVAST. The sale is among the largest logistics real estate transactions in the Netherlands this quarter. The 53,425 m² (gross floor area) fresh logistics center is fully leased to Bakker Barendrecht, part of Greenyard. Borghese Logistics developed it for Necron Group, in close collaboration with Bakker Barendrecht, with Pleijsier Bouw as contractor. With this transaction, Necron Group completes a substantial development and investment trajectory at one of the most important agrifood logistics locations in the Netherlands.
More than just square meters
Behind the 53,425 m² of Ridderkerk III lies a world of specialized processes. Bakker Barendrecht will use the building as its fresh fruit and vegetable center, with state-of-the-art facilities for warehousing, packaging and ripening.
The complex sits on a plot of almost 73,000 m² and comprises approximately 35,700 m² of warehouse space, 11,000 m² of mezzanine and 6,800 m² of office space. With 51 loading docks and a high-bay warehouse 28.4 meters tall, the building is designed for large-scale, efficient fresh logistics.
Sustainability also played a central role in the development. The complex is designed to BREEAM Excellent requirements, built to meet energy label A+++ and fitted with more than 7,000 solar panels. The energy supply supports energy-intensive logistics processes, as well as the charging of electric freight vehicles.
Real estate development is about what happens inside
Ridderkerk III was developed by Borghese Logistics, in close collaboration with Necron Group and Bakker Barendrecht, and delivered by Pleijsier Bouw. The development required substantial investment and intensive coordination between all parties involved. The specific requirements for temperature control, processing and ripening of fresh produce make the complex a highly specialized logistics facility.
Gerard van Liempt, CEO of Necron Group: “Ridderkerk III is a development we are rightfully proud of. Together with our partners, we have created a logistics complex where technical complexity, sustainability and the ambitions of the user come together. The sale to DOKVAST confirms the trust in the quality and future value of this real estate. With that same vision and ambition, we continue to grow our position as a pan-European real estate developer and investor.”
A strategic investment for DOKVAST
With the acquisition of Ridderkerk III, DOKVAST adds a specialized fresh logistics center to its portfolio. The purchase fits DOKVAST’s investment strategy, with its focus on sustainability, technical quality and long-term relationships with users.
Jeroen van Dooren, owner of DOKVAST/DRONE CAPITAL: “Ridderkerk III fits well with our vision of sustainable, future-proof real estate. The strategic location at Dutch Fresh Port, the high-quality technical facilities and the tailored layout for Bakker Barendrecht make this a special investment. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with Bakker Barendrecht.”
Part of a larger logistics ecosystem
At Dutch Fresh Port, Necron Group has played a key role in developing approximately 160,000 m² of logistics real estate, including specialized cold and freezer facilities. The strategic location near the Port of Rotterdam and the A15 and A16 motorways makes the area an important hub for the international trade in fruit and vegetables.
On the Maasvlakte in the Port of Rotterdam, too, Necron Group continues to strengthen its position in specialized agrifood logistics. Within Rotterdam Food Hub, the group is working on large-scale cold and freezer facilities, as part of an integrated logistics infrastructure with an agrifood terminal and its own energy supply.
