Marieke Dessauvagie joined Necron Group as part of Necron Hospitality Group, where she works closely with CEO Dirk Bakker on the group’s hospitality activities. Her focus is on new hotel acquisitions and the asset management of the existing portfolio.

Having worked at Leonardo Hotels, Colliers and Marriott International, Marieke brings a well-rounded perspective on both hotel real estate and operations. She specialises in hotel investments, lease and management agreements, and the analysis behind new opportunities. During her time at Colliers, she also advised on projects for Necron, giving her an early connection to the company.

Hospitality has always been the common thread throughout her career. It is the sector that first sparked her ambition, and it still does. What drew her to Necron was its entrepreneurial mindset, decisiveness, and the ambition to approach hospitality in a different way.

Outside work, Marieke enjoys spending time with her family. In a busy life with three young children, music helps her slow down and reset. She also enjoys reading and discovering new artists.

Dirk Bakker joined Necron Group in January 2026 as CEO of Necron Hospitality Group, the platform that brings together the group’s hospitality activities. He focuses on optimising the hotel portfolio and delivering international concepts, including developments with Hilton and Marriott.

A long-term view on hospitality

Dirk brings over 35 years of international experience in hotel investments and advisory. Before joining Necron, he spent more than sixteen years at Colliers, where he served as CEO in the Netherlands and led the firm’s hotel activities across the EMEA region.

First impressions

Years of working internationally, including living in France and India, taught Dirk to value collaboration and perspective. “You never get a second chance to make a first impression,” he says. That respect for people and partnerships is something he brings to Necron, where long-term relationships with tenants, investors, and development partners form the backbone of every project.

Early riser

Dirk starts his day at the gym and stays active through cycling, golf, and skiing. At home, just outside Amsterdam, he recharges with a glass of wine, his classic car, or a long bike ride. The discipline is the same: show up early, stay consistent, and keep moving forward.
