Reinoud Plantenga joined Necron Group in March 2026, bringing over 26 years of real estate experience. As development director, he is responsible for buy-and-build projects and the creation and progress of hospitality concepts.

Deals, development, and delivery

Reinoud holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Groningen and is a member of the RICS. He spent a significant part of his career working for German investment managers, which explains his fluency in German.

Track record

Career highlights include the acquisition of a 140,000 m² distribution centre in Bleiswijk, the development of around 900 hotel rooms across three Amsterdam hotels, and the forward funding acquisition of Edge Amsterdam West, delivered within the deadline, despite Covid-19. Some of that hotel work was done in close collaboration with Dirk Bakker, now CEO of Necron Hospitality Group.

Outside work, Reinoud can be found at the beach with his wife, two sons, and their dog, or on the golf course, padel court, or road bike. When he has a quiet moment, he reads about modern history or disappears into the kitchen. Not to do the dishes, but to prepare a proper meal.

Bjørn Carlier is chief development officer at Necron Group. Throughout Europe, he oversees projects from the first grain of sand to realisation. “My job consists of bringing people together.”

From paper to property

Bjørn began his career at a paper mill, for which he travelled across Asia, South America, and Australia to find building land for new factories. In 2016, Bjørn met Gerard van Liempt and together they developed land in Rumlang, Switzerland. That collaboration proved a success, and the starting point of Necron Group.

Accelerator Method

Bjørn describes Necron’s strength as reliability, precision, and speed. “We start somewhere in an area or with a specific tenant and keep expanding that collaboration further.” Since 2024, the group has shifted further towards end investment, using its Accelerator Method to acquire projects where permits and leasing are already arranged.

A fixer for life

“I consider my job a lifestyle,” Bjørn admits. Since the age of fourteen, he has been spotting opportunities and connecting people. Looking ahead, he wants to give back to people who are less fortunate. “While traveling in Asia, I started thinking about supporting a small school in Thailand and arranging internship placements for hotel school students from Myanmar. After all, I remain a fixer.”

From engineering to asset management

Michele Janner graduated cum laude in civil engineering from Delft University in 1995. He began his career at Arup as a structural engineer and was later involved in establishing the firm’s Amsterdam office. From there, he moved into real estate investment and asset management, including several years with McCafferty Asset Management. That path, from understanding how buildings work to managing how they perform, gives him a perspective that covers the full lifecycle of a property.

Problem solver

Michele is driven by curiosity. He enjoys understanding how things work, solving complex problems, and finding practical solutions. It is an approach that fits his role at Necron, where each asset comes with its own set of challenges and opportunities. That same curiosity connects him to a company built on creativity: the willingness to look closer, ask better questions, and find what others might miss.

Off duty

Outside work, Michele travels, hikes in the mountains, works in the garden, and spends time with his Samoyed.

Benno Heer is part of Necron Group’s Swiss team, where he leads the development of Project ONYX at Zurich Airport and manages the Free Trade House operations.

From media to trust to real estate

Benno Heer studied economics, politics, and media in Zurich, Florence, and London. He spent more than twenty years as managing director and partner at Ritter Holding, later Kaiser Partner Group in Vaduz, the leading trust company in Liechtenstein. There, he was responsible for business development and transformation, serving as a trusted partner to the owners.

In 2015, he set up STABIQ, Liechtenstein’s first high-end treasure house. Three years later, he founded DB UNIQ, a business solutions company focused on marketing real estate projects. He then became managing director of Necron FTH AG.

A niche with scale

At Necron, Benno focuses on free trade houses: bonded and non-bonded storage facilities for artwork, precious metals, and classic cars. It is a niche that demands precision, discretion, and imagination, the ability to see how a specialised concept can grow into an international platform. Projects are currently under construction at Zurich Airport and Amsterdam Airport.

Lake of the gods

Outside work, Benno walks along the narrow Rotsee near his hometown Lucerne in Switzerland. He loves to read everything from Joël Dicker to Yuval Harari and enjoys sipping on a fine white wine while discussing football with family and friends.

Melanie Römer-Moolman is development director at Necron Group, responsible for the expansion of light industrial and logistics developments in the Netherlands and Germany, a field she has specialised in since 2018.

Two decades in development

Melanie brings roughly twenty years of experience in real estate development across multiple countries. Her broader background includes mixed-use and leisure developments in Belgium and France. At BEOS AG (Swiss Life Asset Managers) in Cologne, she developed a thorough understanding of tenants’ needs and built expertise in financial modelling and commercial negotiations. In her previous role at Panattoni, hard hats and safety boots were fixed items in her wardrobe as she led the development of multiple large-scale projects across the Netherlands.

Bridging cultures

She combines a technical foundation from TU Darmstadt and TU Delft with a postgraduate qualification in real estate investment management from European Business School (EBS), accredited by RICS. Having lived and worked in Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, she knows how to bridge cultures, disciplines, and stakeholders. What drew her to Necron was its entrepreneurial spirit, international ambition, and commitment to sustainable development.

Outside work, Melanie recharges her energy by spending time with family and friends, travelling, and staying active through sports.
