Necron Group starts construction of dual-branded Hilton hotel on Green Square
Necron Group today officially marks the start of construction of a dual-branded Hilton hotel at Green Square Business Campus in Aalsmeer. The development brings together Hilton Garden Inn and Home2 Suites, with Home2 Suites making its debut in the Netherlands. The concept is tailored to extended stays and responds to the growing demand for flexible, longer-term accommodation, while Hilton Garden Inn offers high-quality accommodation for business and international travellers.
Hotel as a central campus facility
The hotel will be the first central facility within the campus framework of Green Square Business Campus, giving it a structuring role in the area’s further development. With a total of 284 rooms, the hotel integrates short and longer stays within a single, cohesive set-up.
It is set to play an important role in the campus’ daily use and positioning, offering shared facilities for meeting, knowledge exchange and relaxation, including a restaurant with bar, meeting spaces and fitness amenities. As part of the wider campus development, the hotel has been designed with a strong focus on future-proof use.
Hilton and Necron Group on the project
Linda Giebing, Senior Director Focused Service Operations Continental Europe at Hilton, commented: “The start of construction marks an important milestone in bringing both Home2 Suites and Hilton Garden Inn to the Amsterdam metropolitan region. These developments strengthen our growing portfolio in the region and underline our commitment to delivering reliable, welcoming and high-quality accommodation that meets the needs of both business and leisure travellers.”
The arrival of Hilton reflects confidence in Necron Group’s long-term vision, in which hospitality forms an integral part of area development. According to Dirk Bakker, CEO at Necron Hospitality Group, the hotel plays a key role within the campus strategy: “A hotel is no longer just a place to stay overnight. It increasingly functions as a central hub for meeting, working, dining and gathering. This new hotel will become an important meeting point within the campus.”
First physical phase of Green Square Business Campus
With the construction of the hotel, Green Square Business Campus enters its first physical phase of realisation. In the years ahead, the campus will develop into a coherent mix of working, staying and meeting functions, aligned with Necron Group’s ambitions for sustainable and future-ready real estate development.
Significance for Aalsmeer
Alderman Sven Spaargaren of the Municipality of Aalsmeer, responsible for Finance, Economy, Employment and Income, Tourism and Public Space, highlighted the importance of the project for the town: “This is an important moment for Aalsmeer. We are pleased that Hilton has chosen this location.” Spaargaren sees the development as an example of how sustainable area development can contribute to local employment and vitality: “With the start of construction, we are giving a clear boost to the business climate, strengthening Aalsmeer’s recreational and tourist appeal, and investing in the future of our municipality.”
